Harry Potter & Gobs of Fire

Tasty movie. I think this episode excited me about The Harry Potter Movies as much as Harry’s initial trip down Diagon Alley did about the book the first time I read it. (catch up.. saw this weeks ago in Vegas)

Good Night and Good Luck

Hip. David Strathairn has a huge imdb credit list, but nothing jumped out at me as exceptional. That’s very odd since my impression of him was highly favorable, but looking at imdb I don’t know why. So it’s nice to have this movie to point to as an amazing performance but a great actor. This is a must movie, if not in the theater, netflick-it.

Weatherman

Everyone knows how much I love a good dark comedy with archery!

Orson Scott Card and Serenity

woah ho.. Orson Scott Card says this about Serenity-

“And I’ll tell you this right now: If Ender’s Game can’t be this kind of movie, and this good a movie, then I want it never to be made.

I’d rather just watch Serenity again.

Now that’s a quote that will probably put some butts in the seats. Read everything Card says about Serenity at his site. See Serenity.

In the future, I will endeavor not to read any darn reviews. Especially on movies I’m eager to see. The horrible spoiler in the last line of one I read at rotten tomatoes didn’t ruin the movie for me, but it was infuriating. The movie itself payed off. I hadn’t watched the last two episodes of the series, which turned out OK. Watching “Objects in Space” on Sunday made me want to see the movie a second time, and watch the entire series again. I’ll probably begin that tonight.
