Bubble Wrap Heaven

I think I’ve seen this before, but this version uses big bubble wrap and has a better sound effects. snaps to iendo! Late Breaking News – Be sure to get at least one “Fresh Sheet”.

Bourne Supremacy

Mike, Sean and I had some great Thai food Friday night at a place called Torung in Hollywood. It’s got a B rating, but not to worry. The food is spicy enough, any vermin would surely be killed. Unless they are thai vermin. Hmmm. Nonetheless, I agree with citysearch.com, 9.5/10. Great food, good service, and btw, citysearch insider’s are clueless… parking at Mobil across the street is paid for by the restaurant. If you don’t see street parking right way, Torung insider’s know to go to the mobil.

Oh, the movie was good too. The Dome was awesome as always.

Anchorman

I laughed. Most of the time, the laughs were more forced than during the recent classic, Dodgeball. Still, I laughed.

Fahrenheit 9-11

So it isn’t an unbiased documentary. Maybe some, even most, people come away with the false belief everything in the movie is true. So what. Those people are lost to the democratic process anyway! If some of the rest of the folks come out of the movie more interested in knowing what’s going on, it was a success.

Spider Man 2

I think the positive, glowing reviews of this movie ruined it for me. Maybe it was the best action movie ever, but it didn’t seem like it to me. Good, even great, but the always capricious ipaulo rating for this movie takes a hit from hype.

Dodgeball

It might kill Sonia to see this, but Dodgeball was great! Keys to watching this movie: have a margarita, go with great buddies, leave your spandex at home. I’m not sure if it can beat Miracle for best sports movie of the year, but it is good light entertainment to cheer you up after you’ve seen F9/11.

Online Gay

Typical… The Online Gay test is clearly falsely identifying people as online-gay. I didn’t answer Yes to a single question and it still said I was OG. Either the test is silly or broken.

Coast Guard lands in west la

Yesterday, I wasn’t feeling so good so I stayed home from work. At 9:35, I heard some really loud noises outside. Turns out two Coast Guard helicopters were landing to transport V.I.Ps. I need to get a better telephoto lense so I can make the faces out next time.

Salamanticus

Alrighty then! We had a great time last night with Mike and Denise. They came out to see Salamanticus. Along the way, they toured the almost moved into new place. Denise, probably due to her triathlon training, didn’t seem the least bit winded by all the stairs in the apartment. Dinner at Border Grill was excellent. You can never go wrong with multiple <no-linky because they use frames!!>margaritas<no-linky>. We almost didn’t make it to the show in time, but I’m glad we did.

Surprise surprise… Salamanticus was much funnier than Journey of the Plague Year, the last Ziggurat show we saw. I really enjoyed the theater-in-the-round staging in this new venue. All the actors fit well and carried their roles convincingly. Towards the end, there was a line by the almost-Queen which made Mike and I laugh as if we were at a Chris Farley movie. I thought Mike might lose it. This morning, I was writing to Gary telling him about the show. I noticed my ipaulo entry about “jenny woo 29 views” is #3 on google. By today’s standards, I think that defines “fan” (and successful blogging!).
