Is it shameless to hope a certain bilingual iPaulonesian will translate this for me and leave a comment? Hmmm. Regardless, I won’t let it stop me from posting this image from the Liliuokalani Gardens in Hilo, HI. I was drawn to photograph several of these stone whatever-they-ares. The contrast of the dark, kanji lettering and the textured stone really drew my eye. |

Kevin’s 12th birthday party was fun. Mike gave me a gentle poke that my photoblogging habits are worse than my blogging habits. So, here are the snapshots I took at Kevin’s B-day Pool Party. Keep in mind, this party was yesterday!! And pictures are already available. Hurray for me!

Few weeks ago I went hiking after work with Scott and Sue at Los Liones. Even late in the day, it was really hot. By the time we stopped for an extended break, I sweating like the out of shape pig I am. During the extended break, we took the time to cool off and fool around a bit for the camera.

Chrispo called me while I was on my way home from REI with my new hiking boots. He asked me what brand I bought, and I didn’t know. Just because, this seems like the way to show him my shiny new Lowa Renegade II GTX boots toe to toe with my 10 year old Merrell Zephyr GTX.

Here is another photo I took at the Old Post Office in Washington, D.C. Two neighborhood photo experts had good suggestions for improving the photo I posted last night with Alan. I didn’t get around to finishing a before and after page, so I thought I’d show this photo instead. I was shooting through a window which created some glare in the upper-left. Maybe someone can explain how to get rid of that.
