google shared items

woot! It’s not as pretty as I would like, but it will work for now. You’ll notice iPaulo.com now has a second page called Page 914. It’s basically my google reader shared items I mentioned earlier, wrapped into a feedburner feed to allow styling. I read about how to do the wrapping at andrew grant’s site, and the post is from late 2006 (ancient history I thought). But it seems like it’s still the way to do what I wanted. Twisted. Enjoy page 914.

fun with spellcheckers

I was consuming bandwidth this morning reading a university web developer list I subscribe to, when I came across this response to a question.

>I’m trying to document some examples of how Web communications/marketing
>personnel work with their IT colleagues.

*We* are perfectly fine. It’s those nincompoops in Marketing that are the problem. 🙂

[Author’s sig removed]
(who is amused to find “nincompoops” passes the Gmail spellcheck, but neither “gmail” nor “spellcheck” do)

While making this post, I went and checked. nincompoops does pass gmail’s spellcheck, but so does gmail and spellcheck. It’s still funny.

iPauloville

Well well well. I have no idea what the point is, but I would enjoy having a thriving population for iPauloville. Head over and help populate iPauloville.

Update 3/19/2008 – iPauloville is intentionally being left to rot. Never had a point, never should have kept going as long as I did. Bad iPaulo, bad!

eve online

I started playing eve online a few weeks ago, when they released the Mac client. I’m having a roaring good time. I’m starting to look at joining a player corp now. We’ll see how that goes. Email or comment if you want a buddy invite. If I read it right, it gives you a 14 day extension to the 14 day trial giving you 28 days of free eve. Yazoh!

iphone and wireless power

No doubt about it, Apple’s iPhone is sexy. No doubt about it, back in its day Apple’s Newton was sexy too. Will I buy a super expensive iPhone just as Apple decides they are a flop and discontinues them? No! Will the iPhone go the way of the Newton? I’ll wait and see. But! Besides the Newton inspired worries I told Mike about, my main cause for concern on the iPhone is the battery life. Well, CES 2007 brings the introduction of a trickle-charging wireless power source which could basically eliminate battery life as an issue. Way cool!!
