Today’s swordfighting
lesson was totally different! Last week, we worked mostly on footwork
and my legs just about fell off an hour into it. After class, I had
that great heavy workout rush in all my limbs and especially my chest.
Today, we did much less footwork and were cutting and parrying with our
sabers all class. After class, my hands and arms were a bit sore and my
body was limber but the big rush was in my head. Whacking and parrying
was mentally challenging with a completely different sense of
invigoration. (and at the end we got to hold broadswords!)

Also, thought I’d share my latest personal lyrical misunderstanding.
Ever since the Mead Wedding, I’ve been singing the song “Under a Violet
Moon” by Blackmore’s Night incorrectly. I’m pretty sure it’s raise your hats and your glasses too instead of raise your hands and your glasses too. Oops. Now that I’ve got that off my chest, I can go about my morning.

*groan* Windows CE on the battlefield?
Truly amazing that it’s expected the thing will crash “If the
Windows-based machine crashes, says Batcheller, it can be rebooted
within 12 seconds.” Doesn’t sound like a lot of time, but I’m sure
soliders will rue that 12 seconds.

A little early morning (6 am) blogging. Maybe I’ll start blogging every morning after my A.M. Yoga with Rodney Yee – I could even make a video about it and call it A.M Blogging with iPaulo. Anywho. I hadn’t been to the Astronomy Picture of the Day site in a long time. It’s an oldie but a goodie. An image of M27 from a few days caught my eye.

2 out of 3 ain’t bad. I agree with the author of this msn article about alternative oscars. The Others and Training Day
were both amazingly good movies. I think they’d make their way into my
2001 Top 10 movies. However, American Pie 2 I thought was a pretty
forgettable sequel. (oops. forgot to link to it. See what I mean?)
Saw Gosford Park this weekend.
Saw Gosford Park this
weekend. Good flick. Funny. Some great actors in it. I missed something
about its Who-Done-It aspect though. Still not sure who the murderer
was. Oh well.
Also went to another dinner party. It inspired me
to try and finally make my apartment presentable. The host had cleverly
hidden stacks of boxes behind one of those free standing Japanese style
screens. I looked around for a place to put up one at my place, but it
won’t work. Too much junk to hide. I’ll have to just keeping cleaning.
Of course, flea showed me a way I might be able to get rid of some of my old SF books. That’ll be a big help.
