departed queens and children

Wow! Three highly rated movies opened this weekend. Who’s with me?! The Departed, The Queen, and Little Children. The little I read about Little Children didn’t make me jump out of my seat, but it does have Kate. Ever since Spotless Mind, she’s been a must see in my book. I’ll probably see The Queen first since it’s playing within walking distance of both our apartment and darn good milk shakes. Have a great weekend Kevin! And Mike, call me to see some of deese movies.

new car

iPaulo needs a new car. The 1995 Honda sedan needs too much work to make it worthwhile. I’m not interested in big gas guzzlers, I would like something kind of fun, city living friendly (smallish), maybe with some cargo space for scuba gear. Send suggestions by any means necessary.

podcast awards

My my. Looking at the podcast awards nominations, I was boggled by the number of podcasts I’d never heard of let alone listened to. The podcasts I have listened to are: Five Hundy by Midnight, Tips from the Top Floor, The Signal and President’s Weekly Radio Address.

jon stewart on internet tubes

The payoff to this youtube video is at the end. Hang on, ignore whatever political feelings you may have because the payoff is worth it. (p.s. Oh! clogged tubes on clariticity already covered this. Missed that. A friend at work sent this to me)

usb missile launcher

I really need to have 2 or 3 of these USB Missile Launchers in my hands immediately. I don’t know why I’m having so much trouble finding a domestic vendor for them. Until I do, you can enjoy these videos by other folks. Once I have at least one, I’m clearly going to post my very own video (with help from Big & little Guad Spot plus their video camera and some of little G’s legos!)

new theme

Woohoo. I upgraded to WordPress 2.x after seeing it in use at work. I also dug around and found this cool new theme. I’d like to add a light graphic element, perhaps something like the infrequently rotated image from the old site. I’ll have to check that out. I’m not sure how I feel about the theme author’s “sponsor” link that he requests you include, but I’ve tweaked it slightly and will leave it for now. WordPress 2.x supports a plugin called Widgets by Automattic which is truly cool. I’m still playing around (my movie ratings are missing for now. Sorry.) but it looks very cool.
