Good night last night in

Good night last night in the hospitality suite. Couple glasses of wine,
watched a couple who really knew how to do the lindy and the Eastern
dance up a storm. Met some people, laughed a lot.

Did just a tad of

Did just a tad of sightseeing after lunch at a Pizza and Beer Joint
called ‘Bottoms Up’. Took my fancy Pontiac Grand Prix and drove down
Monument Avenue. Pretty street. The leaves are pretty being fall and
all. I took a few pictures which I’ll post later. This trip update
blogging is kind of fun. If I had a decent laptop of my own, I could
post the pictures which would be even better! Oh well. I’m off to the
Gala.

iPaulo here in Richmond VA

iPaulo here in Richmond VA checking in. My laptop can’t connect to the
earthlink point of presence here in Richmond. It sucks. So I’m using
the email room at the conference
I’m at. I’ve had some complaints from my bandwidth challenged
iPaulonesians that my links usually require a high-speed connection. I
had planned to surf the web on the laptop I brought (with its 33.6
modem) and make the next few days a light period. If I can’t get the
laptop working, well, these machines have a T1 and iPaulo may go right
on being modem unfriendly. Sorry… Anywho. Gotta go to my first
session in a minute. Didn’t have much time to surf, but the blog of the
day is a hip looking site about U2.

Howdy all. A D&D movie

Howdy all. A D&D movie trailer was slashdotted today. They don’t
provide a direct link, at the request of the D&D site. Well, the
site is hideous!
I gave up watching the Flash animation you can’t skip, and almost gave
up looking for the trailer in the text only part of the site. If you’re
a web designer, look at this site to see how to piss of visitors with
cryptic navigation and how to force feed users things they don’t want
to see. Argh! Anywho. I did find the trailer. This page is as close as I could get to a link. (quicktime required)

Can someone explain this to

Can someone explain this to me? Washington Mutual Bank just dropped their ATM surcharges. (an ATM surcharge is a fee a bank charges a non-customer for using its ATM) However, they still have an out of network ATM fee,
which is what they charge their own customers when they go out of
network. Hence, if it is cheaper for me not to be a Washington Mutual
Fund customer. They are PAYING me to stay with Wells Fargo. I
called WM and nicely explained this issue. In the end, she was
speechless when asked why this makes me want to switch banks–their
stated intent. Did anti-competitive aliens intent on sending business
to other banks just take over Washington Mutual?! That is the real story here!!!
