I put out a fire!

I put out a fire! Well, a fire in a pan, with three firefighters nearby, in a training class.
Still, it was fun. They said aim at the base of the fire. I aimed at
the base of the pan holding the fire. Ooops. Hence, I was one of the
people who made a huge white cloud of monoammonium phosphate
as opposed to the big cloud actually needed to put out the fire. It
wasn’t as large as the gigantic cloud people made who aimed above the
fire. Still, my apologies to paramedic Stacey who was standing behind
the firepan. 😎

My First G-men

boy yo. I’ve got a good one. Today, I met my first G-men.
It was pretty cool. They were invited to speak to a computer security
group at UCLA. Someone made the joke “how do we really know you’re from
the FBI?” They laughed but all the while whipping out their ‘creds’.
One of the guys was exactly what you would expect. It’s amazing how
much some movie/TV cops are like this guy. One was a bit more nerdy,
but still had the fbi-tude. The third was an older, wizened gentleman
with just a hint of the fbi-tude. Anyway.

As you can see, I’m using mixed case again. The stitches on my finger are out and it looks like I might not have a scar after all. So much for that. I guess I’ll have to keep trying.

alright! The Kid is doing

alright! The Kid is doing better. thanks to everyone who went to see
the movie this weekend. Keep spreading the word about this corny but
good movie.

what’s the deal people? The

what’s the deal people? The Kid with Bruce Willis is a light movie fun for the whole family. go see it! (i’m losing my shirt on HSX) seriously, it’s bubble gum, but it’s tasty and it doesn’t stick to your mouth when it blows up in your face.

ok, some news. went to

ok, some news. went to the doctor yesterday and my finger is looking
pretty good. i think i’ll have a scar i can wear proudly, but sean says
the stitches will prevent that. next, a hunt. i’m in my office looking
at my sierra club calender with an amazing photo of a place in chile called the salto chico cascades. it’s amazing. the river and rapids below a mountain range (the cuernos del paine i think). i did some looking, but i couldn’t find any other photos of the same place (with the river) on the net. if you do, let me know.
(btw, i think it’s kind of weird that a search for ‘chili’ on google,
yahoo, and go all return recipes. not a thing about the country Chile)
