Passion of Christ

As I drove home the night I saw this with mike, I couldn’t decide how I felt about giving this movie an iPaulo rating. I’m still unclear why I was hesitant but I’m going to go ahead and give it a rating. Painful, torturous, moving, powerful, stirring, sad, rich, scary, amazing.

Starsky & Hutch

What a blast! Plenty of ’70s cliches.
The S&H Grand
Toreno
. Cheerleaders. And well executed surprise
at the end along with a couple nice outtakes. This movie really exceeded my expectations.

And by the way, sometimes these movie entries are going to suck. Here’s the reason. With the new blogging engine, I was able to tie the blog posted here into the movie review list over on the side. Now, it’s kind of automagic. Neat, huh?

Meet the Puppies

whew! I told the Wizard of DNS to switchover iPaulo, but I almost forgot to replace the dancing cow image I was using as a placeholder. I never would have heard the end of that. So, without further ado, the first known online image of puck and zelda (and some guy…he’s not important. did you see those cute puppies?!)

All new iPaulo

Here we go. A new era. Hopefully, gone will be the days – I mean months – of dancing cows and long intermissions between posts. Hope you enjoy the new site design. I’ll be cleaning up a few technical details, so watch out using my trackback for about a week. Otherwise, knock yourself out. Tell me what you think…

First post in movable type

I spent a good bit of the weekend moving iPaulo.com from blogger to movabletype. A good bit of the time was spent converting the old entries to be valid XHTML. I discovered a lot of broken links from 2000 & 2001. Not sure I’ll go back to fix those. I need to finish quite a few things, like the iPaulo movie reviews, logo and image thingy. Hopefully, I’ll come up with a cool way to do the image thingy so it’s not so stale.

My favorite thing so far about movable type would have to be titles. At first I thought they would really suck. Now, I’m really looking forward to using them. As I was making the old entries valid XHTML, I added proper titles to several entries. Titles are another way to be clever… My least favorite thing would have to be the entry editing tool. Blogger’s had features like links, bold, etc. I’m sure it won’t be hard to find something for mt but it’s no fun even typing this entry.

Wicked

Nifty! The thing I find so striking in my favorites parts of Wicked CD
is exactly what the Witch herself – Idina Menzel – sites as her
favorite moment. “I love singing the duet with Kristin at the end
because I’m always in awe of how different our voices are, and yet,
when we sing together in unison, how wonderfully they blend.” (full
interview with Ms Menzel) Holy Cow! On Broadway, this show grosses $1 million a week!
