Today’s swordfighting
lesson was totally different! Last week, we worked mostly on footwork
and my legs just about fell off an hour into it. After class, I had
that great heavy workout rush in all my limbs and especially my chest.
Today, we did much less footwork and were cutting and parrying with our
sabers all class. After class, my hands and arms were a bit sore and my
body was limber but the big rush was in my head. Whacking and parrying
was mentally challenging with a completely different sense of
invigoration. (and at the end we got to hold broadswords!)

Also, thought I’d share my latest personal lyrical misunderstanding.
Ever since the Mead Wedding, I’ve been singing the song “Under a Violet
Moon” by Blackmore’s Night incorrectly. I’m pretty sure it’s raise your hats and your glasses too instead of raise your hands and your glasses too. Oops. Now that I’ve got that off my chest, I can go about my morning.

Saw Gosford Park this weekend.

Saw Gosford Park this
weekend. Good flick. Funny. Some great actors in it. I missed something
about its Who-Done-It aspect though. Still not sure who the murderer
was. Oh well.

Also went to another dinner party. It inspired me
to try and finally make my apartment presentable. The host had cleverly
hidden stacks of boxes behind one of those free standing Japanese style
screens. I looked around for a place to put up one at my place, but it
won’t work. Too much junk to hide. I’ll have to just keeping cleaning.
Of course, flea showed me a way I might be able to get rid of some of my old SF books. That’ll be a big help.
