Dodgeball
It might kill Sonia to see this, but Dodgeball was great! Keys to watching this movie: have a margarita, go with great buddies, leave your spandex at home. I'm not sure if it can beat Miracle for
best sports movie of the year, but it is good light entertainment to cheer you up after you've seen F9/11.
Online Gay
Typical... The
Online Gay test is clearly falsely identifying people as online-gay. I didn't answer Yes to a single question and it still said I was OG. Either the test is silly or broken.

Coast Guard lands in west la
Yesterday, I wasn't feeling so good so I stayed home from work. At 9:35, I heard some really loud noises outside. Turns out two Coast Guard helicopters were landing to transport V.I.Ps. I need to get a better telephoto lense so I can make the faces out next time.

Salamanticus
Alrighty then! We had a great time last night with Mike and Denise. They came out to see
Salamanticus. Along the way, they toured the almost moved into new place. Denise, probably due to her triathlon training, didn't seem the least bit winded by all the stairs in the apartment. Dinner at
Border Grill was excellent. You can never go wrong with multiple <no-linky because they use frames!!>margaritas<no-linky>. We almost didn't make it to the show in time, but I'm glad we did.
Surprise surprise... Salamanticus was much funnier than Journey of the Plague Year, the last Ziggurat show we saw. I really enjoyed the theater-in-the-round staging in this new venue. All the actors fit well and carried their roles convincingly. Towards the end, there was a line by the almost-Queen which made Mike and I laugh as if we were at a Chris Farley movie. I thought Mike might lose it. This morning, I was writing to Gary telling him about the show. I noticed my ipaulo entry about "jenny woo 29 views" is #3 on google. By today's standards, I think that defines "fan" (and successful blogging!).

The Terminal
This movie had a few weird elements for me. I'm not sure I bought into Tom Hank's quick study of english through TV news tickers. CZJ was an unsympathetic and in some respects uninteresting character for me. There were good laughs, but something seemed hollow. I will probably need to see this again on DVD to make a final judgement.

Shrek 2
An almost amazing flick. I found some of the visual qualities of the characters very distracting. I think it was partly due to the lame AMC Santa Monica theater we were in. I'm spoiled by digital projection, brand new theaters, the arclight, etc. And I hate commercials at the movies. Right off the bat, my movie watching experience turns ugly watching ad after ad. Oh well. Like i said, almost amazing. If you loved Shrek, you'll definitely like Shrek 2.

Zombie Reagan
Pretty sure I should wait till the official week of mourning is over, but
Bush / Zombie Reagan is #2 on
blogdex. I guess that means I'm joining tens of thousands of bloggers who enjoy a good laugh with questionable taste. Be sure to read the FAQ and media pages. [ oh yeah, tomorrow is the officlal day of mourning, so I think I'm OK by posting today. Uh oh. Just read
Flounder4real. His
Ted Rall JackAxx link makes me wonder if he'll be amused by Zombie Reagan. Oh well. ]

I wanna have a Garageband
I think I can make something at least as good (ahem) as Mr Lymond's lovely
Death March using
Garageband. Stay tuned.
Mr Sig Alert Dies
I was sorry to learn
Mr. Sig Alert, Loyd Sigmon, died last week. Years of commuting in LA taught me to appreciate his legacy.

Stanley Cup
AH!! I heard they were out of space on the
Cup, and they'd be adding a new ring to make space. Thought that was weird, that the cup would eventually get so big players couldn't lift it. But duh! I just heard they 'retire' a ring when they add a new one. Ah ha.. (and p.s. I'm
so glad the Cup wasn't decided by that horrible call on the Bolt's Pratt in the 3rd. Yikes!)
Harry Potter 3
Maybe Natalie Portman could have improved this movie, but other than that, I'm not sure what cuold. Good 'ol Hagrid.
Day After Tomorrow
A good laugh. Loved the wolves! Beware of Zoo animals!
Van Helsing
Could the special effects in this movie been any more h0kie? It's really too bad.
Whatshername looked promising in this movie, but she just didn't work. The 3 women vampires, who I think were discovered at Hooter's, weren't sexy in the least bit. All and all, just not worth the time. (and, yeah! I saw this movie a long time ago but I just got around to posting. I've been busy, sorry.)
